ABOUT ME
I started NMbonela Consulting to provide strategic human capital solutions to mission-driven organizations because I believe people drive the mission. As an HR leader in this space, I know HR departments are often stretched thin, if they exist at all. HR leaders often wear many hats; as a result, there is little time left to innovate or think creatively about aligning HR strategy to support the organizational mission.
My HR expertise spans the entire HR function (Recruiting, Comp & Benefits, Performance Management, HRIS Systems, Employee Engagement, and HR Strategy). In my 14 year career, I have helped organizations scale up, built HR capacity, implemented HR systems and processes, and partnered with leaders on employee engagement and culture initiatives.
Before starting NMbonela Consulting, I was the Director of Talent & Organizational Development at the Center for Reproductive Rights. Before that, I was the Manager of Human Resources and Administration at the Surdna Foundation. Prior to that, I was the Principal Associate of HR at Schrodinger Inc. I started my HR career in Executive Search, working at the Stevenson Group, a boutique retained executive search firm.
I have a BA in International Business from Fordham University and an MBA in Human Resources Management from Goldey-Beacom College. I’m currently pursuing an MA in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from Montclair State University. I’m a member of the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM), Society for Industrial-organizational Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and the New York Metropolitan Association of Applied Psychology (METRO).
While I currently call New Jersey home, I am a proud “Mswahili” hailing from Dar-es-salaam Tanzania.
